Field of Play
Polydi Brawler Glossary |
In the game of football and soccer, players take the field to challenge another team to a game of sport. They will typically play on grass or astro turf (artificial turf). In the game of basketball or tennis, players will take the court to challenge one another. Basketball players can play on a wood court, concrete or asphalt. The game of tennis typically has four court surfaces: clay courts, hard courts, grass courts and carpet courts. In the game of Polydi, duels take place on what we refer to as the FIELD OF PLAY. The field of play is also referenced as simply the "field" or sometimes as the "area of play". Unlike other sports, you are permitted to play the game of Polydi anywhere you wish (if it is OK with your parents and a safe location to play). The key to finding a good field of play is locating a place that allows your Polydi to roll properly. You will most likely not have an effective game if you play in the pool or in high grass. However, you can play in a bathtub if you first drain the water... Our preference is playing on a hard wood floor or at a table. In summary, the field of play is any place that you wish to play the game of Polydi. Some people reference this as the "arena". You should discuss places to play the game with your parents.

When selecting a place to play Polydi, make sure that it is a SAFE LOCATION. Although a drive way and street have a nice hard surface, these are NOT good places to play with Polydi. |
