Who Goes First

  Polydi Rules

If both females and males are playing, the game always starts with the youngest female going first.

If the game is being played with only males or only females, the youngest person goes first.

After the first player has completed their turn, move clockwise to determine the next player.

clockwise direction

After the first round in the duel is complete, take turns going first by rotating clockwise (be sure to remember who went first in the previous round).

Each new round in the duel, a new player goes first.  Players should never go first twice in a row.

All players in the duel will have the opportunity to roll their Polydi in order to complete the round.

  • If there is any confusion as to who’s turn it is to go first, please ask the nearest adult.

A clockwise motion is one that proceeds in the same direction as a clock's hands: from the top to the right, then down and then to the left, and back to the top.   When playing a game sitting at a table or sitting on the floor, using the clockwise or counterclockwise (opposite direction then clockwise) method works wonderfully to keep track of who's turn it is to go next.  As with many of the rules in Polydi, if all players agree, you can change the direction of the game from Clockwise to Counterclockwise.  However, according to the official rules, players take their turn in a clockwise direction.

Chivalry is not a thing of the past.  If you are not aware, Chivalry is based on ideals such as knightly virtues and honor.

The game of Polydi must always be played with honor.  Therefore, “LADIES" always go first.

Trivia: Most left-handed humans prefer to draw circles clockwise and most right-handed people prefer to draw circles counterclockwise.  It is believed that this can be attributed to dominant brain hemispheres.
Crowd Wanting to Play Polydi Games

Don’t worry, in most of the Polydi games, EACH PLAYER gets an EQUAL number of turns in the duel.  Unless, a player has ran out of Polydi before it is their turn to roll.  This can occur if another player rolls a Polydi Symbol.
