In this section of the Polydi.com website, you will find information about some of our favorite toy companies.

Fisher-Price : It was 1930 when Herman Fisher, Irving Price and Helen Schelle combined their talents to create a different kind of toy company. With the Great Depression looming, it may not have been the best time to launch a new business. Luckily, the whimsical nature and magical surprises of their first toys quickly caught on. And they became lasting hallmarks of Fisher-Price products. Fisher-Price is headquartered where it was founded, in East Aurora, New York. It’s a small, historic village 20 minutes southeast of Buffalo—a close-knit community with charming homes, gently rolling hills, good schools and friendly, hardworking neighbors. As one of the world’s leading manufacturers of babygear and preschool toys, Fisher-Price believes deeply in the power of innovation and fun to bring out the full potential of the world’s children. They continue to grow around the world, conducting business in 145 countries and producing toys in more than 37 languages. Their parent company, Mattel, is the largest toy manufacturer in the world.

Hasbro : Hasbro is a branded play company providing children and families around the world with a wide-range of immersive entertainment offerings based on the Company's world class brand portfolio.  From toys and games, to television programming, motion pictures, digital gaming and a comprehensive licensing program, Hasbro strives to delight its global customers with innovative, well-known and beloved brands such as TRANSFORMERS, LITTLEST PET SHOP, NERF, PLAYSKOOL, MY LITTLE PONY, G.I. JOE, MAGIC: THE GATHERING and MONOPOLY. The Company's Hasbro Studios develops and produces television programming for markets around the world. Programming in the U.S. is distributed on The Hub TV Network, a multi-platform joint venture between Hasbro and Discovery Communications. Through the Company's deep commitment to corporate social responsibility, including philanthropy, Hasbro is helping to build a safe and sustainable world for future generations and to positively impact the lives of millions of children and families every year. It has been recognized for its efforts by being named one of the "World's Most Ethical Companies" and is ranked as one of Corporate Responsibility Magazine's "100 Best Corporate Citizens."

Lego : The name 'LEGO' is an abbreviation of the two Danish words "leg godt", meaning "play well". It’s their name and it is their ideal. The LEGO Group was founded in 1932 by Ole Kirk Kristiansen. From a small carpenter’s workshop to a modern, global enterprise that is now, in terms of sales, the world’s fourth-largest manufacturer of toys. The company has passed from father to son and is now owned by Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen, a grandchild of the founder. The LEGO Group is a privately held company based in Billund, Denmark. The LEGO brand is more than simply a familiar logo. It is the expectations that people have of the company towards its products and services, and the accountability that the LEGO Group feels towards the world around it. The brand acts as a guarantee of quality and originality. The LEGO brick is their most important product. The brick in its present form was launched in 1958. The interlocking principle with its tubes makes it unique, and offers unlimited building possibilities. It's just a matter of getting the imagination going and letting a wealth of creative ideas emerge through play. The LEGO Group is engaged in the development of children's creativity through playing and learning. Based on the world-famous LEGO® brick, the company today provides toys, experiences and teaching materials for children in more than 130 countries. The LEGO Group has approximately 10,000 employees, and it is the world's third largest manufacturer of play materials.
