Polydi Brawler LEVEL FIVE Game Rules

Summary

Players roll THREE Polydi during each round. After rolling three "numbers", players will multiply the numbers to determine their score.  In this level, the multiplication is more challenging and we also introduce new “bonus point” opportunities.  For example, players can roll a two of a kind, three of a kind, or a straight. Each of which will earn the player additional strength points.  This level also contains more complex rules for when players roll a minus sign, plus sign, or Polydi Symbol.

How many Polydi to start? important Polydi rules notemore than in earlier levels.

EACH PLAYER STARTS THE GAME WITH A TOTAL OF 10 POLYDI

The TEN Polydi you select for the match become your Polydi Brawlers for the game.

Your Polydi Brawlers are essentially your "TEAM" for the entire game.

  • IF all players agree "before" the game begins, you are permitted to begin the game with a higher or lower number of Polydi.  However, all players must agree to the rule change and each player must start with the exact same number of Polydi.
  • IF you decide to start with more or less then 10 Polydi per player, it will affect the method to determine the winner of the match (if you are playing a multi player game).  If you change from our suggested 10 Polydi rule, you will need make a decision before you begin your duels about the number of Polydi to collect in order to win the match.

If you do not own enough Polydi, you can use game pieces.

  Rolling a NUMBERimportant game rule

When it is your turn, you will roll THREE Polydi at one time.

Roll until you have three “numbers”.  ONLY re-roll the Polydi that landed on a plus, minus, or Polydi Symbol.  The Polydi that have already landed on a number, do NOT get re-rolled.

AFTER a player has three numbers, they MULTIPLY all three numbers to get their score for the duel.

Example, If you roll a 3, 6, and 9.

3 x 6 = 18

Then take 18 x 9 = 162

Your score for this duel would be 162 points.

Tip : You can multiply in any order and get the same total.  For example, you can multiply 6 x 9 to get 54 and then multiply 54 by 3 which equals 162.

Bonus Points

If a player rolls a STRAIGHT that player will add 15 bonus points to their roll total. (What is a Straight?)

If a player rolls THREE OF A KIND that player will add 10 bonus points to their roll total. (What is a 3 of a kind?)

If a player rolls TWO OF A KIND that player will add 5 bonus points to their roll total. (What is a 2 of a kind?)

FIRST MULTIPLY the three numbers that you have rolled. SECOND, you ADD your bonus points to that score.

Rolling a MINUS SIGNimportant game rule

Minus Sign – you really won’t want to roll minus signs…

1 Minus Sign : If a player rolls a minus sign, they must move the  Polydi that they rolled into the cage.  The player must now roll a new Polydi.

2 Minus Signs: If a player rolls TWO minus signs on one roll, they must move TWO Polydi to the cage This player must subtract 5 points from their total score at the end of their turn.  The player must now roll two new Polydi.

  • If the player does not have two more Polydi brawlers to continue, they are out of the game.  If they had only one Polydi left over, that Polydi go into the cage.

3 Minus Signs : If a player rolls THREE minus signs on one roll they must move THREE Polydi to the cage.  This player must subtract 10 points from their total score at the end of their turn.  The player must now roll three new Polydi.

  • If the player does not have three more Polydi brawlers to continue, they are out of the game.  If they had only one or two Polydi left over, those Polydi go into the cage.

How do you WIN THE GAME?

When one player collects all of the Polydi from the other players, they win the game.

If you find that the game is going too long, players may agree to set a timer.  If a timer is set, the person with the most Polydi when the timer goes off is the winner of the game.  If two or more players have the same number of Polydi, go to a tie breaker round (roll again).

If you find that the game is going too quickly, you can increase the number of Polydi that each player uses to begin the game.

If you find that the math is too difficult, you are welcome to step down a level.  You are always welcome to return to this level when you become more comfortable with multiplication.
