Polydi Brawler Level 3 : THREE OR MORE Player Game Rules
Summary

When rolling a minus, plus, or Polydi Symbol players will follow the same rules as earlier levels. When a player rolls a NUMBER they will now leave their Polydi on the field of play until the end of the round (this is different than the earlier levels). After each player has taken a turn, players will determine “who” gains strength points and “how many” points are earned.

This level of competition requires a basic understanding of addition and subtraction.

  How many Polydi to start?

All players start with the same number of Polydi.

We suggest that each player starts the game with 5 POLYDI

The FIVE Polydi you select for the match become your Polydi Brawlers for the game (this is your team).

  • You can use a higher number of Polydi if each player agrees.
  • If you change the number of Polydi, it will affect the rules about how to win.

Tip: If you do not own enough Polydi, you can use game pieces.

The player who rolled the highest score during the round is the only person to receive strength points.

If their is a tie, see the tie breaker rules below.

How many points are earned? important note important rule

The "highest" score minus the "second highest" score determines the points earned for each round.

BEFORE you start the calculation to determine how many points are earned, you must determine the players with the TWO HIGHEST scores.

For example, if you have five players that role as follows, you will disregard the lowest three numbers and only keep the highest and second highest score.

Example:

Player # 1: roles 6

Player # 2: roles 7  (second highest score)

Player # 3: roles 2

Player # 4: roles 8  (highest score)

Player # 5: roles 4

You will take the highest score which was 8 and the second highest score which was 7.  The other lower scores will be disregarded (you will not use the low scores; only the top two scores matter).

The scoring in level 3 competition is always, the "highest" score minus the "second highest" score determines the points earned in the round.

8 – 7 = 1

Player # 4 earned "one" point during this round.

If their is a tie score for either the highest or second highest score you will proceed to the Tie Breaker Round (see below for rules).

Rolling a NUMBERimportant note important rule

Each player will take their turn rolling until they role a number.

When rolling a “number”, you leave the Polydi in the field of play.  You should NOT remove the Polydi from the field of play until all players complete their turn and score is calculated.

If a player received any bonus points from rolling a “plus” symbol during their turn, they must add their bonus points to their number rolled.

After each player has taken their turn in the duel, it is time to determine “WHOgains strength points AND “how many strength points” they have earned during this round.

Tip: Your score can also be called your "strength points" or power points, etc.

  Rolling a MINUS SIGN

If you roll a (minus sign) that means you must put the Polydi that you have just rolled into the cage.  Your Polydi has been CAPTURED.

Take another Polydi and roll again.

If you have no more Polydi Brawlers to roll, you lost the duel.

   Rolling a PLUS SIGN

If you roll a (plus sign) that means you can take one Polydi out from the cage (if one has been captured).  You also add one point to the score of your next roll.

Roll your Polydi again.

Tip: If you roll a plus sign a few times, don’t forget to keep adding one point to your score for each plus sign rolled.

   Rolling a Polydi Symbol?

If you roll a Polydi Symbol you collect “one” Polydi from EACH player in the game.  You can select which of the Polydi Brawlers to collect from each player.

Also, you can take one Polydi from the cage

Roll your Polydi again.

If any of the other players has only one Polydi, they must give you their final Polydi and they are then out of the match.

How do you WIN A DUEL?

After a player reaches 21 or more strength points, the person with the highest score wins the duel. Each player gets an equal number of turns.

Important: After reaching 21 points or more, “all” players that have not yet had their turn during the round must take their turn.  If they roll a plus, minus, or Polydi Symbol it may affect the game.

If two or more players are tie for the highest score, those players roll again for a tie breaker.

Winner takes all Polydi from the cage and the Polydi being played by each player.

You can now challenge your opponents to another duel.

How do you WIN THE MATCH?

  • THREE PLAYER Game : the first person to collect a total of 12 Polydi wins the match.
  • FOUR or MORE PLAYER Game : the first person to collect a total of 15 Polydi wins the match.
If you modified the number of Polydi being used during your game, you may need to alter the number of Polydi needed to win the match.  That should be decided by the players in the game "before" the game begins.

First person to win THREE matches wins the game
.

If you and the other players in the game do not want to complete three full matches to declare a winner of the game that is perfectly fine.  There is nothing wrong with playing only a few duels or possibly a match or two.  The idea is to have fun.  If you think a full game (winning three matches) is too lengthy, you can certainly shorten your adventure.

What about a TIE SCORE? important note different rule then previous levels

Tip: These tie breaker rules are different then in previous levels of play.

What if two or more players have a TIE for the highest number during the round?

If more then one player is tied for the highest score during this round, those players role again for a tie breaker round (only the players in the tie for the highest number roll again). The other players leave their Polydi on the field but the value of their role now goes to ZERO. The players that are not in the tie have no chance of winning this round, but they still must be active participants in the round just incase the people in the tie roll a Polydi Symbol. The rules that apply when players role any symbol still applies even during the tie roll.

What if two or more players are tied for the second highest number during the round?

It really does not matter. The person with the second highest number does NOT earn any official Strength Points anyway. In this game level, only ONE person receives strength points per round.

For the math equation, you will take the Highest Number minus the Second Highest Number. The person with the highest number is the only player earning points for this round.

Tip: If a player still has a Polydi on their team, they should always complete their turn to officially finish the round.  Even if one or more players has already reached 21 or more, it is important for everyone to take their turn.  If the player is far from winning, they still have an opportunity to roll a plus sign, minus sign, or Polydi Symbol which can effect the round.  ALL players that are not yet officially out of the match, should roll their Polydi to finish the round.  Each player gets an equal number of turns.
